Foil Covered Bottle Cap Sensor

This sensor was designed, developed and is currently being manufactured by ASE Industries.  The sensor is used in bottling plants that produce bottles with foil covering.  It often happens that the capper will miss a bottle and leaves a bottle uncapped. Due to the electromagnetic nature of foil, inductive sensors can not tell the difference between the cap and the foil.  If the bottle passes through an inspection system equipped with a inductive sensor and the foil is present the inspection system will think a cap is present and allow the bottle to pass.  This creates a bigger problem in that the bottle will get all the way to the case boxer and will only be detected by a visual inspection of the case boxes being wet.  Often a number of boxes must be opened to find the culprit.  Using the Model 301 sensor will eliminate this problem.

This sensor is used world world wide.  Customers include Molson Canada and Peroni Italy.  It is the only sensor  manufactured for this specific purpose.
